“Do not set aside your happiness. Do not wait to be happy in the future. The best time to be happy is always now.”
Roy T. Bennett
Welcome to MeaningfulLife Counselling. My name is Yevgeniya (aka Gen), and I am Accredited BACP online therapist. I bring a unique, multicultural perspective to my online therapy sessions, built on my diverse background and personal experiences.

With a mixed-race background, I began my professional journey as a textile artist and art teacher. My career then transitioned to working as an interpreter/translator for international companies. This role enabled me to travel extensively. I came to appreciate the diversity of our world. My own journey of reflection on life challenges and personal development led me to the field of counselling.
My drive to become a therapist comes not just from my own experience of therapy, but from navigating the world as a neurodivergent person. As a child, I felt overwhelmed, different, weird, rejected and not “good enough,” without fully understanding why. Starting my therapy was a turning point — I knew something needed to change.
Sitting with a therapist I learned to trust, who truly listened with empathy and compassion, was incredibly powerful. It gave me the space to question the beliefs I held about myself and to begin unpicking layers of shame and self-doubt. Over time, I realised I wasn’t “broken”—I was responding to a world that hadn’t always understood me.
Therapy helped me see that I am, in fact, OK as I am.
Why work with me?
Professional and ethical
I am a BACP-Accredited counsellor and work within professional ethical standards, providing a confidential and respectful therapeutic space.
ADHD and neurodivergent-aware
I understand that traditional approaches don’t always take account of the ways neurodivergence can affect emotions, relationships and everyday life.
Warm and non-judgemental
You don’t have to edit yourself, minimise your feelings or pretend that everything is okay.
Collaborative
Therapy isn’t something I “do to” you. We work together to understand what’s happening and identify what could help.
Completely individual
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. Your experiences, needs and goals are unique to you.
Online across the UK
Sessions take place online, allowing you to access counselling from a private and comfortable space that works for you.
My Approach to Counselling
I believe that counselling works best when you feel safe enough to be honest and understood enough to explore what is really happening.
My approach is person-centred, compassionate and collaborative.
Rather than arriving with assumptions about what you need, I will take the time to understand your experiences, your relationships, your challenges and what you would like to change.
We may explore thoughts, emotions, behaviours, past experiences and relationship patterns — but always at a pace that feels manageable for you.
You don’t need to know the “right” things to say.
You don’t need to have a diagnosis.
And you don’t need to arrive with a perfectly formed explanation of what is wrong.
You can simply tell me what’s happening, and we can begin from there.
My therapy employs CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) tools and
My online practice includes regular clinical supervision, professional liability insurance and being a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), abiding by their ethical code of conduct.
